Big Bend National Park is one of the least-visited, yet most-beautiful US national parks. It is one of my favorite places on earth to visit. In the distance, you can see Santa Elena Canyon (that little cut in the rocks to the right).

What is that thorny plant, is it part of another
plant or is the plant itself thorny!?
Thanks, Gina. I don’t know what it was. I think that is a seed pod in the picture. There were lots of them around.
